No. The Pella Atletieks club fee pays for membership to the club only.
Athletes have the choice to be members of two national organizations. USA Track and Field and AAU.
AAU: If an athlete already has an AAU membership (say, through basketball, volleyball, baseball, gymnastics, etc.) they do NOT need to re-register for an individual membership. If athletes choose to participate in the Iowa AAU track and field meets, they MUST be a member of AAU and will need to present their AAU card at meet registrations.
You may register your child for an AAU athlete membership at:
http://www.aauathletics.org/index.asp?a=main/pg_membership.htm
USA Track and Field (USATF): Membership for USATF is slightly different. Some USATF-Iowa sanctioned meets will allow athletes to participate in their meets without being members of USATF. HOWEVER, if an athlete intends to qualify and run in the state, regional and/or national USATF Jr. Olympic meets, she/he MUST be a registered member.
You may register your child for USA Track and Field at: https://www.usatf.org/membership/application/index.asp

We are excited that Nebraska will be hosting the Region VIII Championships. We are hoping Pella Atletieks can bring several athletes to this BIG meet this summer! Several states: Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North and South Dakota will be represented. This is a great meet to get exposure to the competitive nature of track. Athletes must qualify at the State JO meet to attend this meet.
Iowa USATF Track and Field Championships to be held at Johnston HS track, Johnston, IA. Events start at 9:00AM. It is important that you give yourself time to get to the meet and have time to warm up before your events. It is also important that you do not miss out on your event calls. If you do not check in when your events are called, you will not be able to compete in that race. We have provided the link to the USATF state schedule, but be aware that they don't give times (other than start times) for events....just the order or events.
