Pella Atletieks Track & Field Club

Pella Atletieks will begin spring training the week of April 19th. Specific times for age divisions and events will be posted the weekend before. Those of you new to the program realize that your club track coaches ALSO coach at the high school, middle school AND Central College and these programs are currently their first priority. Because these track and field programs are in full swing until mid May, club practices are usually "random" at the beginning, so don't SET your schedule around the time we give you the first 3 weeks or so. Those of you who were not able to attend the meeting can get more info from us at your child's first practice OR online.

We are anxious to start working with our veteran and new club athletes this spring!

All hurdlers are welcome to join us Sunday, April 11 @ 3:00PM to work on hurdle technique for long and short hurdle events. Meet us at the outdoor track @ Central. Contact pingel10@mchsi.com for more info if you need.

The Lone Tree meet is May 15th, with an AAU sanction. They are doing check
in/sign up from 8:00-9:30, with events starting at 10:00.

Start time @ 12:00PM, Pleasant Valley High School.

Washington will host a USATF sanctioned track meet on Sunday, May 2nd. The meet begins at 1:00PM and registration opens at 12:00PM.

Entry fees for each meet are the responsibility of the athlete/parent. The track club does not pay for athlete or
spectator entry fees, meals, transportation & lodging, if required. Meet fees for athletes are usually $4.00 to $8.00
maximum.

Athletes under 13 can compete in a maximum of 3 events (running or field events). Athletes 13 and over can
compete in a maximum of 4 events, but no more than 3 running events.

Start time is 10 AM @ Ames High School, Ames, Iowa. Rain date is Sunday, May 30th @ 1:00.

Start time is 10:00AM @ Des Moines Hoover High School. Registration is normally earlier than the start time, so plan on arriving around 9:00AM or sooner so that you don't miss out on registration and proper warm up.

Wade Pingel jumped 10' 6" in the intermediate boys pole vault to take 2nd place for team Pella Atletieks. Pingel competed in Bloomington, IL at the 2010 AAU Northern Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Friday, February 19th.
